sixteen | mommy dear, tell me please, is the world really round
[ Today, Slugger is acting particularly unusual especially where it concerns the females in his life. For much of the day, he'll be busy with one thing or another...]
(A) Terezi's Room
[ His sister will find buckets of brand new delicious crayons and cartons of paint in her bedroom. That's right, Terezi. BUCKETS. And PAILS.]
(B) Around Mayfield / Your Yard
[ Somewhere Slugger has gleaned that ladies are fond of pretty things that smell nice. Or something. Wherever there is a flower to be picked, he is picking it. ]
(C) At Home; 726 Anderson
[ helping Edward with whatever menial chores Susan has saddled him with and/or assisting Edward with the stealing and transport of 30 lbs of chocolates. ]
(D) Backyard; 726 Anderson
[ Sitting in the backyard is a wooden picnic table just like the ones seen at the park. In fact, it is one of the picnic tables from the park. How he transfered it to his backyard will forever remain a mystery. At the moment he's brushing off the dust and leaves from it and trying to unravel the umbrella bisecting the table at its center.]
[ooc] Slugger is mostly affected by his female housemates, but he'll also be affected by others that he's familiar with (more so if he likes you, less if he doesn't.)

You.

Search the house. It's dry.

[Susan will sweep over and examine one of the boxes.]
...I give up. What, exactly, is the meaning of this?
no subject
I felt like it.
Edward helped-- [his gaze drifts purposefully elsewhere] --with the stealing...

[Susan drops the box immediately to put a hand on Slugger's forehead. ... ]
. . . Ice cold as normal. Right. Have you had anything ... bubbly to drink recently? A bit harsh going down the throat, smelled like antiseptic?

[Holding still. He isn't sure if she's referring to alcohol or something more toxic. Anyway.]
Someone had to distract the drone.

You should have seen it. Slugger took his bat to one of those displays in the back. That idiot of a drone flipped his lid. It was too easy. Like taking candy from a--- [He stops, chuckling a bit.]
Well? What do you think?
no subject
. . . I should warn you against destruction of private property and petty theft, of course. Don't do it again, you understand. And I suppose I should thank you.
So. Thank you.

[Not to worry, he won't be doing any of those things anymore (for the rest of the day);
and since it wasn't mentioned, murder is still acceptable, right?Slugger watches her for a moment longer, then edges a little closer. And a little closer yet. Head bowed, he seems to be awaiting something. A pat, perhaps?]

[Susan has never looked so shocked. Slugger will have to wait until Susan is finished staring at him in disbelief before she realizes what he seems to be requesting; with a tentative movement, she'll slowly place her hand on his head.]
Slugger. Say what you just said again.

You're welcome, Mom.
[She may note the lack of creepy lilt in his voice that might suggest he's being facetious. He seems to mean it.]
no subject
Slugger?
Tell me that was a slip of the tongue.

... ... ...

I'll give you a hint. The correct answer reflects the fact that we've been sucked in from different worlds.
no subject
Yes.

I don't actually like being right all the time, you know. It can be upsetting every now and then.
Here's what we're going to do. Slugger? You're a lovely son, and I couldn't be happier with the present, but you're going to stay in your room now and you're going to make me cards. Do you understand? Lots and lots of cards, filled with gushy poetry and awkward stick figure scribbles. You'll give them to me tomorrow morning and I'll ooh and ahh suitably if you're still missing your marbles.
Edward? You're a terrible husband and I want you to reflect on the poor values you're teaching our son. Go to your study and sulk into a mirror and think about the lovely supper you'll be cooking for me tonight.
As for me, I'm going back to bed. Don't disturb me until supper, either of you, or I'll be very cross. Have I made myself clear?
[Susan holds up a finger for a second or two to glance around for any objections before drifting in the direction of the staircase. ...Two steps up, she'll pause, return, and snatch three of the chocolate boxes.]
I think I'll be needing these.
