[Edward stares at Slugger for a moment, half-appalled, half-impressed at his effrontery. Swallowing once, he nods, stepping out of the car and slamming the door shut. He loops around to the trunk, taking as much of the chocolate as he can in his arms. Surprisingly, he's able to balance it all, bumping the trunk closed with his elbow.
With haste, he marches down the driveway, up the walk towards the front porch. He sets it all down but doesn't take much time to organize it---he needs to get out of here quickly, after all. He's almost tempted to ring the doorbell, but he decides against it. She'll find it on her own.
When that's all taken care of, he ducks across the lawn and slides back into the driver's seat. And they're off once more.]
